AUTO SERVICE ASE Certified Automotive Technician

Vara Chevrolet is looking for a Service Technician to join our service team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and preferably ASE certified. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done. Vara Chevrolet is located off of IH-35 South near South Park Mall. Benefits

Qualifications

• Certified automotive technician
• Knowledge in all or most aspects of major automotive repair
• At least 2 years of experience as a certified automotive technician
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to or willing to learn to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
