Prepares bakery menu including dough production, baked goods, pastries, cake decoration, cookies, savory hand pies, etc.

SCHEDULING/SHIFT EXPECTATIONS

• Full time looks like 5 days of 8hr shifts 
• We currently use Mondays as a “prep day” and the bakery is closed  
• Morning shifts start at 4am and go until 12pm
• Occasional overtime offered when necessary 
• Closed all major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years…) 
• Covering for team members out sick, on leave, or vaca is expected 
• Attend all scheduled meetings

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of GINGER FOX
• Follow and practice all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and
• completed on a timely basis
• Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, viennoiserie, tarts, hand pies, laminated doughs, etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
• Assist in the preparation of breakfast and lunch menu items such as soup, dressings, aioli, cooked meats, savory pie fillings, vegetable prep, etc.
• Cross-train in front of house to assist with espresso bar, point of sale, customer service and savory station.
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the bakery’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
• Decorate pastries and cakes and ensure food presentation will be beautiful, exciting and aligned with GINGER FOX branding and ethos
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the bakery’s preventative maintenance programs
• Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Mindfully limit, monitor, and record food and packaging waste for the benefit of the business’ success and the planet
• Ensure that all opening, closing, food preparation, and periodic maintenance checklists are completed with 100% attention to detail
• Participate in kitchen and customer area cleaning activities
• Recommend measures for improving work procedures and team performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety and team and customer experience
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
• Follow, complete, and verify work checklists including opening, closing, food preparation and periodic maintenance
• Coordinate with team employees to meet customer needs and support the operation of the bakery
• Take turns working the dish station
• Ensure coverage of all assigned shifts

* Previous food service experience preferred
* Excellent basic mathematical skills
* Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
* Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
