Behavioral Health Consultant

One of our leading healthcare providers is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Consultant to join their dynamic team to provide essential support to their patients with chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to patients with multiple chronic medical conditions
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and crisis interventions
• Offer advice and support to the multidisciplinary team from a behavioral health perspective
• Assist in improving patient care by enhancing knowledge and awareness of the impact of chronic health conditions on mental health and wellness
• Collaborate with other professionals to develop strong care plans
• Use a trauma-informed care approach with an emphasis on harm reduction and motivational interviewing
• Serve as the behavioral health subject matter expert within an interdisciplinary care team
• Make referrals for behavioral health levels of care not provided by the company's providers, e.g., ACT, IOP, PHP, residential treatment, inpatient services

Education & Experience:

• Clinically licensed in the state of practice with 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health-related field such as social work, mental health, and/or addiction
• Licenses must allow for clinical practice and may include: LCSW-C, LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LMHC, PhD, PsyD
• Qualified clinical supervisors will be given preference
• 2+ years of experience in a community mental health center, managed care organization, FQHC, inpatient psychiatric facility, or similar setting serving clients with complex behavioral health needs
• Experience with complex government-sponsored populations preferred, e.g., Medicaid, Medicare beneficiaries
• Experience with EMR and efficiency in completing EMR notes within 48 hours
