Job Description - Billing Specialist

Requirements of the Billing Specialist

  • Billing, payroll, and computer experience required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in Microsoft GP Dynamics, eRSP, and ADP systems preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities of the Billing Specialist

  • Review timekeeping system reports as needed for processing billing/payroll
  • Collect & submit necessary information to submit with invoices, including care notes, welcome packets for new admissions, etc.
  • Work with CIS department and Field Office Staff to verify and update patient and payer source information within computer system(s)
  • Verify and update rates for services to be billed
  • Enter any current omitted or miscellaneous transactions to be billed and/or paid in the current week, including mileage, bonuses, patient co-pays, etc.
  • Monitor email inbox daily and provide complete and timely follow-up for resolution
  • Process corrections to invoices, client accounts, and re-bill as necessary
  • Handle client inquiries and provide information to clients as needed
  • Upload pay data batches to payroll software for further processing
  • Assist Accounting Manager in voiding, reissuance, and processing additional payroll checks as necessary
  • Handle employee inquiries and make information available to employees as needed
  • Complete wage verifications and other activities related to payroll
  • Input, track, and return employee garnishments through ADPs Garnishment program
  • Other duties as assigned
