Job Description - Commercial Bank Strategy

Job Description

As a Vice President on the Commercial Bank (CB) Strategy team, you  will own day-to-day client engagement, identify issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential financial impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scope problems, identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential bottom-line financial impact
  • Develop work plans to test / evaluate strategies and insights which could span across process improvement, organizational change, or functional strategy efforts
  • Advise and influence senior leaders and business executives on key business decisions and major change initiatives
  • Develop deep trust-based advisor relationships with key client stakeholders, ensuring client is satisfied throughout engagement
  • Lead interview campaigns, working sessions, and senior client presentations; maintain composure and presence in difficult client meets
  • Lead one or more client projects, including managing multiple associates / analysts across several work streams
  • Collaborate with team to build hypothesis sets, analyses, and roadmaps for solutions
  • Develop junior team members both formally and informally, including serving as a mentor
  • Identify potential roadblocks / obstacles and escalate issues as needed

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 7+ years of consulting experience with a top-tier management consulting firm or an internal consulting/corporate strategy team
  • 1+ years of experience motivating and leading teams
  • Strong client management and executive-level communication skills
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems
  • Ability to apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • MBA or an advanced degree from a top-tier program
  • Financial services experience

About the Team

Commercial Banking is focused on helping our clients succeed and making a positive difference in our communities. We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to clients including corporations, municipalities, institutions, real estate investors and owners, and nonprofit organizations.

The Strategy team manages mission-critical projects ranging from developing growth strategies, to assessing and planning entry into new markets, to implementing organizational restructurings and operational efficiencies, and more. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with senior executives.
