Job Description - Copywriter / Content Strategist

In this position…

You will report to the Creative Director, Copy and work as part of a close-knit team of Designers, Producers, Marketing Partners, and others to ideate, deliver and execute on clean consistent copy that gets results. You will also focus on partnering with cross-Ford stakeholders to ensure copy is adopted across all touchpoints from product pages, dealer education materials, emails, social media, in app messaging, landing pages. You’re experienced working in direct responses & sales copywriting functions, and embrace in-market research & measurement as tools to further optimize Ford storytelling.

What You’ll Do…

+ Ongoing development of new ideas, creative concepts and written solutions across print, digital, social and video disciplines

+ Work with internal sales and training teams to arm them with the right presentation tools and copy guidelines to clearly communicate our brand and product offerings

+ Ensure all writing adheres to brand tone of voice, and is appropriate for the intended audience

+ Work with creative directors, copywriters, producers and other team members to flesh out the creative development of ideas and tactical executions

+ Write video scripts, headlines, product descriptions, website content, social media content, editorial, etc. Write whatever is right for the brand

+ Edit and proof materials during all project phases

+ Be a respected creative partner and trusted teammate of your core creative team, internal partners and various agency teams

+ Deliver creative presentations for concepts and executions to internal and external audiences

+ Tell your friends you played a key role defining and influencing the future of electrified commercial transportation solutions

You’ll have…

+ Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent

+ 5+ years of copywriting and/or content strategy/direction experience in a related agency or department: advertising, PR, digital, social media

+ Impressive writing chops, from brand expression to social to product driven work

+ Experience establishing, maintaining, and improving a tone of voice

+ Proficient in MS Word and MS PowerPoint

+ Must have a portfolio; share anything that conveys the way you think conceptually and approach writing assignments, even if it was never produced

+ Must be self-motivated, smart-working, well-organized, and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables

+ Ongoing drive to understand emerging techniques, trends and philosophies in technology, interaction, social media and storytelling through content

+ Ability to listen, internalize and deliver on creative direction from leadership; we want you to have your own opinion on creative decisions, but also know when it’s not a battle worth fighting

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Experience working in the automotive and/or technology industries (not mandatory)

+ Ability to prioritize work across engagements based on short and long-term needs

+ Bonus Skills: blogging, journalism, social community management, filmmaking, videography, video editing, podcasting, HTML , UX, etc.
