/Responsibilities:
The Director, Technical Services is responsible for leading operational and technical support teams. The position should develop long-term technical strategies related to fleet, assets, maintenance, training and compliance by implementing existing company programs and working closely with the operations and business team to meet company objectives.
Manage and lead project managers, SMEs, training and safety teams to develop projects and goal to support business plans.
Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration
Define the key metrics (leading and lagging) for operational excellence within Fleet, Training and Safety programs.
Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary
Build a support team and overall structure to enable operational excellence within the districts
Implement the general maintenance policy, performance metrics
Manage fleet capital plan, provide support and justifications for refurbishments, obsolescence and annual maintenance plan, spare parts strategy and budget as part of the reliability and life cycle management equipment strategy.
Define, lead and drive a fleet and equipment Reliability Program including; RCA and Reliability Tracking, Failure analysis and corrective actions
Develop and manage function specific technical procedures for the business
Develop Training programs for function specific activities and coordinate with other Airgas departments for comprehensive training of all associates
Provide guidance and support to the operating team for DOT compliance including tracking and incident analysis with follow-up.
Lead engineering, SME and Design Authorities to build and grow technical expertise in the business functions.
Manage and provide direction on IMS programs including development of business function procedures that ensure the finished product meets company goals
Manage and scope the assigned projects and prepare the Capex justifications in line with the business strategies.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
8+ years of business operations experience, in a leadership capacity and strong focus on business development.
5+ years of supervisory / management experience with proven ability to effectively lead and manage a team.
Previous experience maintaining/creating maintenance plans and developing procedures.
Efficient in Microsoft office and presentation software packages.
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by company.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in engineering or operations management preferred.
Previous experience with IMS systems related to fleet management
