About NSS:

At North Star Scientific Corporation, we design, develop, test, qualify, and manufacture reliable, high-performance electronics for land-based, ship-based, and airborne DOD applications. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Mechanical Duties require:

• Knowledge of Manual and powered hand tools
• Hardware identification and installation
• The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, diagrams and assembly instructions

Fabrication duties require:

• Proficiency with circuit plotters, soldering irons/stations
• Manual hand tools
• Multimeter
• Installation knowledge of surface mount technology components, including micro miniature integrated circuits.
• Cable and Wire Harness

Assemblies Duties require:

• Fabrication, installation and routing of high power and RF cables/wire harnesses.
• Application of conductive and nonconductive coating and plating to circuit boards and enclosures.
• Support R&D department as needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

No experience necessary, training provided.

Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, component datasheets, wiring diagrams and block diagrams.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.
• Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree from an accredited two-year college or university program in one of the following: Electrical Technology or Electro-Mechanical Technology, or equivalent training in the Military.
• 1-3 years assembly experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards and Knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 standards.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
