Job Description
This position supports quality assurance, technical services, and food safety activities that protect and build trust for Domino’s brand and help deliver great-tasting products to our customers. Responsibilities include preparing for and executing product quality audits and technical services projects as well as data collection, analysis, and presentation. This position is very hands-on and oversees lab and equipment cleaning, organization, and inventory. This individual will gain great exposure to various Domino’s ingredients and menu items. Qualified candidates will have a passion for food and hands-on work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supports and Executes Quality Assurance and Technical Services Projects
- Completes successful routine and ad-hoc product evaluations, including planning, set-up, execution, and reporting according to standards
- Reviews, improves and develops new product evaluation standards, protocols, and training materials. As needed, train stakeholders to execute product evaluations.
- Manages and organizes product and ingredient evaluations and audits, including ordering, scheduling, executing, data analysis, interpretation, recommendations, pre- and post-evaluation communications, and, database oversight. Evaluations will be based on routine quality audits, customer complaints, and technical service projects (quality improvements, equipment changes, process changes, ingredient changes, new product development, and food safety validation)
- Coordinates third-party ingredient and packaging evaluations.
- Trends, assesses, and interprets ingredient quality data and recommends actions when needed.
- Reviews and modifies specifications.
- Assists the R&D team with product development activities and sensory testing as needed by acting as kitchen support.
- Travels, when necessary, to conduct product sensory setups or other activities that support QA, Procurement, and R&D initiatives.
Laboratory Maintenance
- Maintains a clean, orderly, safe and, efficient QA lab, test kitchen, and QA shipping/receiving areas.
- Orders and maintains ingredients, packaging and ,supplies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in food science or related field
- Minimum 1 year quality assurance, or related experience, in quality/food manufacturing or restaurant/retail business.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills across functions and organizational levels.
- Able to identify opportunities, set goals, work independently and be self-motivated.
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification and strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with suppliers, franchisees, and internal team members.
- Travel up to 30%
- Good Knowledge of computer skills including MS Office programs, data analysis, and data management.
- Operates with a sense of urgency, as needed.
