Job Title: Production Team Member- Linen Feeder Flatwork Iron (2:30 PM Shift)

Job Summary: Process linens by feeding washed and/or conditioned semi-dry linen to flatwork iron.

Role Priorities:

• Lifts and/or pulls small and/or large pieces from linen trough.
• Locates feed edge, holding corners in each hand.
• Straightens piece and places on feed table.
• Continues to smooth article to prevent ironing creases into it.
• Visually inspects pieces for defects.
• Setting up and/or staging for next product to be processed to attain continuous workflow.
• Occasionally help catcher by hand folding and stacking of product onto shelf.
• Ensure cleanliness of machines and work area.
• Assist in maintaining the machines are working properly by informing Supervisor who will make minor repairs to equipment and requisition major repairs to Maintenance.
• Ensure quality of product and meet daily production quantity goals.
• Work in other areas of department as necessary.

 Role Requirements and Essential Job Functions:

• Training period of 2-6 weeks to become familiar with ironer, pieces processed, company standards, and to attain speed, accuracy, and routine for normal efficiency.
• Must be able to stand all day with gross hand and arm motions.
• Finger dexterity for manipulating pieces.
• Lifting and carrying of product up to 22lbs occasionally.
• Also twisting, bending, turning, squatting, walking, and occasional heights.
• Assist Supervisor in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, and quality control.
• Repetitive work.

Work Environment:

• Inside typical plant environment- can be hot and humid; must be aware of safety protocols and avoiding injury to hands from moving parts of machinery and tools.

Education:

•  High school diploma or equivalent.

  General work hours are Monday through Friday.
