** JOB SUMMARY

:**The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility operating and repairing issues before they impact business objectives. Performs a wide range of repairs, preventive maintenance items, and direct project work in the instrumentation and controls department. Facility repairs and maintenance can be performed internally and/or by an outside contractor based on the shop workload or the complexity of the required repairs.

** ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedules, plans, and directs work activities of projects to ensure satisfactory performance which meets the customer’s needs and requirements.

  • Plans, organizes and directs work activities of sub-contractor, customer and company personnel at the facility.

  • Designs, reviews and revises project schedules as changing site activities dictate in order to meet projected deadlines.

  • Coordinates engineering changes between company’s engineering staff and customer’s personnel.

  • Provides necessary technical engineering input to facilitate the changes in a timely manner.

  • Schedules, plans, directs and participates in mechanical and electrical inspections so as to ensure company provided equipment meets the required design specifications.

  • Coordinates engineering changes as necessary to correct non-conforming issues.

  • Secures and maintains company assigned equipment for use at job site. This equipment will generally include at least the following:a laptop computer, desk phone, amp meter, 4-20 mA calibrator, welding (preferred), and other associated hand tools.

  • Documents site activities for support of customer invoicing, engineering feedback and on-going project to ensure successful project completion.

  • Documents all revisions and “as-builts” during the start-up phase.

  • Provides technical feedback to company’s engineering and project management groups to facilitate design reviews and track project performance.

  • Responds proactively to customer (both internal and external) requests or concerns in a manner that builds trust and confidence not only with the customer but colleagues within the company who are partners in the problem solving and/or product development and engineering process.

  • Maintains active contact with other departments, which is positive and supportive of that group’s planning and budget objectives; ensures communication with customers and/or other team members is conducted in a manner that builds trust and leads to efficient and effective problem resolution.

  • Allocates time efficiently and effectively keeping track of critical information, schedules and deadlines.

  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines established by the Company/OSHA; pursues safety initiatives in support of the Company’s vision of “zero accidents”; maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment.

  • Ensures daily/weekly/monthly reporting, as well as any other general correspondence, is communicated accurately, concisely, and in a form appropriate to the target audience.

  • Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

:**

  • High School Diploma required.Associates degreeor an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to peers and management.

  • Highly adaptable and able to work independently or as part of a team, with limited required

direction and guidance.

  • Experience performing multiple projects and collaborating with varying team

members.

  • Prior experience in the Engineering design, and/or commercial industrial manufacturing

industry is helpful.

  • 30 hour OSHA General Industry training a plus.

  • Five (5) years experience in the same or a related field.

  • Valid in-state driver’s license. Driving record must meet acceptable company standards and be maintained as such in order to operate a vehicle while on company business.

  • Ability to read and interpret computer aided design (CAD) drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation pertaining to specifications of components and materials.

  • Ability to program a programmable logic controllers and positioners for operating and testing dampers a plus.

  • Ability to apply considerable knowledge of process instrumentation including pressure, flow and temperature transmitters, valve actuators and the testing and calibration of these components.

  • Ability to program a programmable logic controller for process control and operations.

** COMPETENCIES

**

**KNOWLEDGE:**

  • Working knowledge of business related software packages (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, etc.); exposure to MRP/ERP systems preferred.
  • Mathematics-Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
  • Considerable knowledge of continuous emissions monitoring equipment for measurement of process source emissions.
  • Considerable knowledge of safe handling, storage and operations of equipment that utilizes hazardous chemicals.
  • Considerable knowledge of rotating equipment, including dampers, actuators, controls, and seal air fans.
  • Considerable knowledge of safe handling, storage and operations of material handling equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of rotating equipment, including dampers, actuators, controls, and seal air fans.
  • English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

You should be proficient in:

  • Electrical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Hydraulics Experience
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Salary info:

$21 - $26 / hr
