Job Summary: The incumbent is in charge of day-to-day operations at all Experiment Station facilities that grow plants for the purpose of research and demonstration. Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to execute soil, nutrient, water management and pest management study using latest technology.
- Ability to perform specialty crop practices required for the production and maintenance of various crops and perform all farm related activities in connection with the operation of the research sites.
- Ability to develop nursery and greenhouse management plans and coordinate activities of workers engaged in propagating, cultivating, and harvesting horticultural specialties, such as trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetables, and other plants.
- Ability to coordinate with research scientists for soil and water sampling at all research sites.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other partners involved in Experiment Station’s research and production activities.
Essential Job Functions : - Designs, implements and records greenhouse and field production practices and oversees all aspects of plant cultivation.
- Assists with the execution of soil, nutrient, water management and pest management study using latest technology.
- Performs specialty crop practices required for the production and maintenance of various crops and performs all farm-related activities in connection with the operation of the research sites.
- Develops nursery and greenhouse management plans and coordinates activities of workers engaged in propagating, cultivating, and harvesting horticultural specialties, such as trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetables, and other plants.
- Coordinates with research scientists for soil and water sampling at all research sites.
- Assists research scientist for field data collection in preparation for peer review publications and grant writing process.
- Assists in design and flyers writing for plant care booklet.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - M.S. in Agronomy/ Soil Science / or closely related field Minimum Experience.
- Two (2) years of plant management and production experience.
- Two (2) years of work experience with farmers and producers in communities.
- Training in genetics, breeding and/or soil sciences.
