Clinical/Triage nurse is part of the person-centered integrated care team and establishes and maintains effective, professional working relationships with patients and their representatives and with medical staff. This nurse is also responsible for assessing medical needs and scheduling patient appointments based upon acuity. The Clinical/Triage nurse upholds all guidelines set forth in the clinic, maintains strict patient confidentiality, accepts and upholds patient service and satisfaction and assists practitioners and physicians in delivering health care services. Hours are: Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Responsibilities Include: Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patients histories, vital signs, and document in patient chart Perform venipunctures, urinalysis, EKGs and other procedures as directed Administer immunizations and other injections Phone in patient prescriptions and document accordingly Provide patient education and instruction Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization Triage incoming calls for medical appointments to determine urgency of appointment need; schedule patient appointments Make follow up calls to those who have missed appointments and triage for rescheduling; assist patients in appointment attendance; assist in sending letters to those who cannot be reached via phone Regular attendance, except as excused Assist with scanning/filing of incoming medical records/reports Attend weekly staff meetings as required Conduct self in accordance with Compass Healths employee manual, including demonstration of customer service skills as trained Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations Attend all training as required by Compass Health, Accreditors and Funders Other duties as assigned by supervisor ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES COMPANY WIDE Regularly attends work except for approved absences Attends all training as required Maintain professional, champion behavior Provides quality customer service Provides services with a commitment to service excellence Works in a way that exhibits a commitment to personal excellence Team oriented and values diversity DESIRED DEMONSTRATED KEY COMPETENCIES Analytical Thinking Change Readiness Collaborative Relationships Creative Thinking Communication Oral Communication Written Decision Making Flexible Thinking Multitasking/Planning Organizational/Time Management Problem Solving Teamwork Technical Expertise WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids Regular exposure to biohazard waste materials EDUCATION Associates degree in nursing or completion of a practical nursing program required WORK EXPERIENCE At least three (3) years of triage experience in an adult or pediatric medical office setting required Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Medical EHR software required Demonstration of excellent customer services skills in person and on the phone required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION LPN, licensed in Missouri required Compass Health Network is a nonprofit health care organization offering accessible, comprehensive, & compassionate behavioral health, substance use treatment, family medicine and dental services throughout Missouri.
