Responsibilities

• Responsible to the Nurse Manager/Director. Functions as the unit supervisor, clinical resource person, and responsible for nursing resource utilization. Assumes responsibility for unit operations for the shift that is worked.
• Maintains a work environment that develops leadership and accountability skills in all staff
• Systematically empowers employees by relocating decision making for customer satisfaction to those serving the customer.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement of the department by serving on teams that include ongoing mechanisms for measuring and improving quality of service and outcomes
• Assesses and implements plan for continuously improving own leadership skills

Qualifications

• Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas.
• BSN, or pursuit of BSN or higher degree required.
• A minimum of four years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting or three years demonstrated leadership as a charge RN or PCC.
• Familiar with scheduling process, staffing assignments, acuity systems, and quality of care. Has developed and presented education sessions.
• Has contributed to employee evaluations and assisted with orientation of staff.
• Has experience investigating problems and provides solutions with- in the framework of best practice and nursing process.
