Job Description - Regional Vice President

Job Description:
A leading independent wholesale property and casualty insurance broker and underwriting manager is seeking a Regional Vice President. The Regional Vice President will be responsible for driving strong and sustainable growth in the Southwest region by leading, developing and overseeing the overall performance of the Southwest offices. This dynamic and forward-thinking leader will focus on developing strategies for profitability, growth and retention of business within the assigned territory. Additionally, the vice president will mentor a highly driven team and act as a strategic partner to leadership to manage relationships with clients and carriers. This is a retained search. Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for strategic growth in the region, as well as develop and coordinate executive business plans to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously analyze the regional territory to assess market trends, changes or relationship needs and revise the business plan, as needed.
  • Develop and lead a unified team of employees across the offices in the Southwest, including management, underwriter and broker producers, and support staff.
  • Set and achieve consistent performance standards and effectively drive a collaborative business approach.
  • Be responsible for team and performance management, including developing, training and mentoring talent in sales and service.
  • Identify and develop tools and opportunities to improve sales capabilities with office leadership and producers.


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working as a sales team leader with direct management experience
  • 8+ years of multiline underwriting and production experience , along with e xcess and surplus experience
  • Prior experience managing an office or a region of multiple locations with profit and loss accountability
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree; continuing education (preferred)
  • Advanced business degree, advanced executive leadership certification, or insurance designation (preferred)
