Job Description

Our Award-Winning Client is seeking a dedicated financial professional to administer the general accounting, financial, and statistical reporting functions in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures. This role will manage the physician compensation program and develop the annual budget in alignment with the Medical Group's and Health System’s short and long-term plans.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the general accounting, financial, and statistical reporting functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage the physician compensation program in line with contract parameters.
  • Develop the annual budget for the Medical Group according to the organization's short and long-term plans.
  • Train subordinates in accounting, financial, and reporting procedures, and monitor their performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Assist the VP of Physician Services and Hospital CFO in developing long and short-range operational plans, including service demand, resource availability, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Prepare cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures as needed.
  • Monitor, interpret, and analyze financial performance to ensure the realization of established plans and objectives.
  • Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Direct the preparation of internal financial reports, including work papers for the annual financial audit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, reflecting the hospital's financial position reliably.
  • Lead efforts to reduce operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends, financial reports, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee the submission of financial data and associated reports required by government and regulatory agencies, public disclosures, and third-party payor cost reports.
  • Analyze and implement cost accounting rules to capture and maintain procedural costs accurately.
  • Educate internal and external customers on cost accounting methodologies and appropriate usage.
  • Direct financial reporting and analysis using decision support data.
  • Prepare monthly operating report summaries in collaboration with the VP Physician Services and practice operations team.

Candidate Details The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a medical group setting under financial services, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A minimum of three years of progressive management experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization is essential. Candidates with a CPA and/or a master’s degree are strongly preferred.

The candidate should be a strong, hands-on, and approachable leader, capable of motivating and inspiring staff to achieve optimal results while maintaining high employee satisfaction. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and quantitative skills, along with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, are crucial.
