Job Description - Resource Teacher, Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervention Services

BALTIMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS CLASS TITLE : Resource Teacher, Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervention Services (CCEIS) Comprehensive Support Teams (grant funded) REPORTS TO : Division of Schools (TBD) SUMMARY : Provide professional guidance and coaching to school-based staff and ensure the coordination of the appropriate resources in the identified schools to address areas of disproportionality. Work with multiple schools and the district office to support students. Support schools in building capacity to meet the needs of all learners while ensuring that all initiatives support the system-wide goals identified in the strategic plan. Performs other duties as assigned. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
  • Assists in collaboration with district and school leaders to rate and align CCEIS action plan resources, interventions, strategies, and initiatives in significant ways that support positive student outcomes.
  • Assists in the plans and executes professional development to increase awareness of the root causes of disproportionality and provide strategies and interventions that will promote a positive culture and climate in the identified schools.
  • Supports activities that include focused observation and feedback, researched-based instructional and behavioral modeling, and coaching to implement behavioral interventions.
  • Provides coaching and serves as a resource to support the use of research-based interventions related to behavior, academics and/or social emotional learning strategies by using best practices.
  • Supports administrators, teachers, and other school staff in identifying root causes of disproportionality and promotes ways to meet students' social and emotional needs.
  • Provides resources and support in Tiered Interventions and Supports.
  • Assists in collaboration with central office staff to support the utilization of district resources.
  • Attends required coaching, team and school meetings, and professional development.
  • Monitoring and ensuring alignment of work with the annual CCEIS corrective action plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education, Training and Experience :
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of successful teaching experience.
  • Leadership/management experience in PreK-12 public educational setting preferred.
  • Experience in math or ELA, early childhood, elementary, or secondary preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Licenses and Certificates :
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Professional Certificate.
  • An Advanced Professional Certificate is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
  • Demonstration of outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstration of expertise and experience in assessment/data analysis and instruction ages three through 21.
  • Demonstration of strong human relations, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstration of strong computer/technology skills.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
The work of this class is generally performed both in school and office environments. Travel to schools throughout Baltimore County is required. Work includes the operation of office equipment, computers, and assistive technology devices. Limited physical activities may be required. Work schedules may include nights and weekends and will require occasional work beyond the normally scheduled hours. This is a grant funded position, contingent upon annual renewal. As such, you will be required to sign an acknowledgement form with the understanding that if the grant is not funded beyond the current year, you will be reassigned to a position based upon the stipulations within the appropriate Master Agreement that is in effect at the time of the reassignment. FLSA : Exempt Eligible for the Maryland State Retirement System This class specification defines the types of duties and level of difficulty of work required of positions in this title. It shall not be held to exclude duties not mentioned nor limit the right of management to assign work to employees. Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required. Factors such as passage of time since the offense, the nature of the violation, and the extent of rehabilitation will be taken into consideration.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
  • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
  • Official transcripts for all higher education must be received prior to contract signing.
  • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
  • All newly hired personnel must attend a Benefits Orientation session.
  • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
