Job Description - Seasonal Night Auditor

Department: Rooms Reports to: Front Desk Supervisor or General Manager Summary: Accommodates resort guests by performing the following duties: Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent guest service.
  • Performs checks and balances for the front desk, restaurant and/or store that are prescribed by the corporate accounting office staff to close out the day’s business.
  • Performs routine walk-through of lodge for security checks.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with the property and all its services, including dining room menu.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with other lodges and activities in CSP.
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to resort services, registration of guests, shopping, dining entertainment, travel directions, SCP services and activities.
  • Makes restaurant transportation or entertainment reservations and arranges for tours.
  • Operates computerized guest accounting system, credit card machine, telephone fax and miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Responsible for the appearance of the front desk and lobby area. Keeps work area clean and uncluttered.
  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms or cabins to guests. Issues room keys.
  • Dates, sorts and racks incoming mail and messages, Receives and delivers phone messages.
  • Makes and confirms walk-in reservations.
  • Works closely with central reservations regarding new or changed reservations.
  • Post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone. Communicates carefully all charges that are made to or from other resort locations.
  • Computes bills, collects payments and makes changes for guests.
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of all posting and cash/change handling.
  • Works closely with housekeeping and maintenance departments to monitor room/cabin status. May deliver rollaways and cribs to guest rentals or attend to other guest needs.
  • Deposits guest’s valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box as requested.
  • May be assigned other duties, sometimes in other departments, as the need arises to support fellow staff members in achieving the company mission.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or ability required. Education/Experience Preferred: * Prior experience and/or training is desirable, but not required. Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with basic problems pertaining to guest stays (reservation errors, maintenance problems, etc.).
  • Ability to recognize and reason through basic posting problems or errors in order to correct them.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing abilities and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
