South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking a friendly and well-organized individual with a passion for customer service to join our Natural Resource Management team serving the United States Geological Survey Cooperative Research Unit. Cooperative Research Units conduct research on renewable natural resource questions, participate in the education of graduate students, provide technical assistance and consultation on natural resource issues and provide continuing education for natural resource professionals.

Job Responsibilities: Primary staff support for all Federal duty functions required by the United States Geological Survey Cooperative Research Unit that is composed of three volunteer faculty members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Customer service practices
  • Computer systems and software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Modern office equipment, practices, and procedures
  • Basic bookkeeping

Skill & Ability to:

  • Communicate information clearly and concisely
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Prioritize work to meet competing deadlines
  • Gather, compare, and summarize data
  • Learn basic website content editing
