Job Description - Supply Chain and Customer Service Manager-

Key Responsibilities:

This is a hands on position that is responsible for management of the product supply chain from initial purchase, from customer service to warehousing & sale/delivery of product to distributors, and finally to the end users. Maintaining highly motivated employees that are oriented toward customer service, is of high importance.

Responsibility includes but is not limited to managing the following areas:

  • Manage and direct all supply chain employees including: Purchasing & logistics, Customer Service, and Distribution Center (DC) staff; setting priorities and goals by preparing and conducting at a minimum, annual performance reviews
  • Responsible for creation of all purchase orders for product including both DC and drop ship
  • Manage DC inventory levels in all DC’s including 3PL’s in DFW & AV, evaluating on a dynamic basis, required safety stock based on historical and forecast demand
  • Manage all product shipments from creation of purchase order to receipt of goods in DC or customer destination
  • Responsible for update and maintenance of all SKU’s
  • Maintain and foster excellent customer contact and relationships
  • Responsible for the periodic performance of physical inventories and “ownership” thereof
  • Strive to implement and maintain industry “best practices” in all departments
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with Business Drivers to review rebate contract status and pricing
  • Interact with other departmental managers including marketing, accounting, IT and sales
  • Maintain periodic reporting of customer complaints, account activity, phone activity, and shipment and returns activity, and other reports as developed within customer service
  • Support Sales Team with key Distribution and Drop Ship Customers
  • Implementation of EDI transaction activity
  • Maintain and track performance against pre-established targets
  • Interact with all levels of management including frequent communication on an as needed basis with VP & President regarding status of projects and other outstanding issues.
  • Maintain current data in information system platform for all purchase orders
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with factory vendors
  • Travel to factory locations as required
  • Maintain all factory transfer pricing
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing with Common & Ocean freight carriers
  • Manage DC space anticipating near and long term needs
  • Responsible for general DC maintenance and upkeep
  • Create and maintain an efficient and organized group, leveraging on computer technology as much as possible and limiting the amount of paper based activity
  • Manage LTL freight claims system and logs
  • Manage departmental expense budgets
  • Maintain a dedicated and motivated staff
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Four (4) year advanced degree
  • Eight (8) years experience with supply chain and three plus (3+) years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success in a similar position and knowledge of LTL, ocean freight and negotiation experience highly preferred
