Position Overview: As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway teacher specializing in Computer Information at Epic Academy, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction and hands-on training to students in various aspects of computer science, information technology, and related fields. Through engaging lessons, practical projects, and industry connections, you will prepare students for successful careers in the technology industry or further education in related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

• Design and update instructional materials, lesson plans, and projects that align with industry standards and educational goals.

Classroom Instruction:

• Deliver engaging lessons covering topics such as programming languages, software development, database management, networking, cybersecurity, and hardware fundamentals.

Practical Skills Training:

• Facilitate hands-on learning experiences through labs, workshops, and projects to help students develop technical competencies and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Create and administer assessments to measure student understanding and proficiency in course content, providing constructive feedback to support their learning progress.

Industry Connections:

• Establish partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and educational institutions to enhance student learning opportunities, such as internships, job shadowing, and guest lectures.

Career Guidance:

• Provide guidance and resources to help students explore career pathways in the technology sector, including information about certifications, further education options, and job market trends.

Technology Integration:

• Incorporate educational technologies and tools into the learning environment to enhance instruction and prepare students for using technology in their future careers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• CTE instructors licensure REQUIRED
• ISBE credentials MUST be up to date
• Relevant industry experience in computer science, information technology, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of current industry trends and technologies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
