Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will work with a team of accounting professionals to support an accurate and efficient close for various processes and accounts, with a focus on payroll.

On-time month-end close
Reduction of manual journal entries
No significant out-of-period adjustments

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant will work with a team of accounting professionals to support the following;

Prepare the accurate recording of payroll accruals and expenses processed by payroll
Offer analysis and insight to various functions to support growth initiatives in the business
Collaborate closely with HR & Payroll to prepare appropriate reporting of salaries and benefits for both field and corporate functions
Provide support to Financial Accounting Payroll Manager for analysis on medical and other benefit reserves
Communicate any material change to the forecast/budget as soon as known to Financial Accounting Payroll Manager
Align with accounting leadership as necessary to ensure intercompany balances are
accurate Work with Managers to align controls with company policy emphasizing a risk-based
approach
Assist with the identification & implementation of areas for efficiency, automation and acceleration within the close process
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and detailed fluctuation analysis for accounting leadership
Ensure security and integrity of financial information
Assist with Internal and External Audits
Perform all other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience

1-3 years of experience in accounting of finance fields
Experience with multi-unit organization
Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics
Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on all financial related decisions.
Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering repeatable, reliable solutions with flawless execution and superior customer service.
Ability to work independently, setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support.
Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Formal Education, Qualifications or Training

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience -
Required
Masters in finance, accounting or related field - Preferred
