The Claims Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Senior Analyst claims team, who handle a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, Customer emails, Correspondences, Grievance and Appeals, HRA , Balance Bills and Transplants, enabling the team to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Facilitate staff development by coaching, motivating, and training staff members to ensure optimal performance. Provide support to Management Level Staff by working closely with them to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. They are responsible for participating in assigned projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES ?

+ Coach, motivate, train, and develop staff virtually, through performance feedback provided in daily interactions as well as in periodic performance reviews.

+ Promptly address customer issues, external and internal, while always looking for ways to exceed their expectations. (includes Claim and state audits, and legal reviews), Identify, research, resolve problems and analyze trends that arise, focusing on one touch resolution and customer satisfaction. Become personally involved with difficult or high-profile situations, keeping management informed.

+ Timely completion of various daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports as assigned.

+ Ensure assigned tasks and team responsibilitie s are handled within expected and regulated timeframes and production, qualityand inventory levels are within set standards. Assess and prioritize new work, and complete personal and project tasks within expected timeframes. Look for ways of improving processes.

+ Build teamwork by focusing on collaborating, managing conflict, building commitment to common goals, and by meeting the needs of team members, modeling principles, and development of mutual trust and respect. Collaborate effectively with other members of The Leadership Team and off-shore claims handling vendor, on workflow management, customer satisfaction, and overall employee engagement.

+ Actively participate in project meetings as a SME representing benefits.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of core responsibilities and good leadership skills, while pursuing continued development of both. Assist with the interview process when open positions are to be filled.

+ Other duties as needed/assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Responsible for overall management of the team members, including tracking attendance and job performance.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements

+ 3-5 years of experience in insurance and/or benefits customer service

+ High School Diploma

+ Good leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills

+ Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills

+ Ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure situations.

+ Ability to work effectively with employees/members, providers, clients and differing levels of co-workers including Client Managers and all levels of staff

+ Demonstrated critical thinking skills

+ Ability to effectively deal with problems in varying situations and reach resolution

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs)

+ Effectively use MS Office Applications such as Excel/Word

Preferred

+ 2-4 year college degree with focus on the medical and/or business field, preferred but not required.

+ Working knowledge of Operating System(s) used by the Claims and Customer Service Areas.
