Childcare Assistant Teacher

Bright Light Academy is seeking staff to assist in multiple classrooms. The ideal candidate will have two+ years experience working with children, be a team player and have a passion for learning and growing in the field of early childhood education.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the lead and assistant teachers to assist and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
• Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-k students.
• Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines.
• Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.

Qualifications:

• Must have two+ years experience working with children.
• Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the United States.
• A love for children and a desire to work with all ages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
• Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.

This position is a great opportunity for those interested in expanding their experience in the field of early childhood education. While this position is FULL-TIME, YEAR-ROUND we do have some flexibility. For those with 2500 hours of experience, pay starts at $15.50. For an experienced educator with a a CDA, a non-related associates or bachelor's degree AND at least 2500 hours of experience, pay is up to $17.50 (relative to education & experience). Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a FOUR-DAY work week!
