POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates all forms of learning activities in support of University Health System's mission, vision, values, strategies and initiatives. Works with all levels of staff throughout the Health System to support skill development, performance improvement, empowerment and learning. Serves as a resource for department leaders to achieve business goals with measurable outcomes by designing and implementing learning and development programs that build employees’ competencies to optimize performance. Develops strong relationships at all levels of the organization to fully understand learning & development needs to ensure University Health strategic plan alignment. Cooperatively architects, manages, facilitates, and evaluates clinical and non-clinical development programs with a focus on results. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a cross-functional, highly creative team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required. MSN preferred. Minimum of five years of full-time nursing experience with at least three years in nursing specialty preferred. Demonstration of experience in curriculum development and instruction/implementation required. Strong instructional delivery, interpersonal and analytical skills are required. Training certification is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must hold current card as a Basic Life Support Instructor or be eligible to earn it within three months of employment. State of Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
