Wayside Family Treatment Center maintains the family unit by welcoming women who are pregnant and mothers with children into treatment to prevent separation. We receive services for addiction, parenting, understanding how their alcohol or substance use contributes to Adverse Childhood Experiences, and improving their relationship skills to ultimately break the generational transmission of risk.

What you will do:

  • Supervision of counseling staff; recruit, train, hire, evaluate, and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Provide coverage for staff during illness, leaves or vacations.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of counseling department.
  • Oversee program schedules and day to day client needs.
  • Serve as the designated responsible staff person for day-to-day operation of program when Director of Treatment Services is not present.
  • Facilitate staff meetings when directed, assist with training and education of all staff.
  • Provide direct services to clients including interviewing potential clients, assessment, treatment/aftercare planning, individual and group counseling, and monitoring/evaluating client progress. This role may carry half a caseload and facilitate groups.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records, including but not limited to documenting client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, aftercare plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Assist residents in assessing parenting and family needs in collaboration with family services counselor program staff, client-identified support people, and child protection workers.
  • Attending manager meetings and collaborate with management team.

Compensation: $67,000-69,000 per year.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, day-time hours. Ability to be on an on-call rotation and to have a flexible schedule. Staff receive a stipend each week they are assigned to the on-call rotation. Ability to work remotely 1 day per week after 90 days of employment.

Sound like a good fit? A few requirements include:

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor or dually licensed LADC and LMFT, LSW/LGSW/LICSW, or LPC/LPCC with licensure in good standing
  • Supervision provided for pre-licensed mental health.
  • Minimum two years of experiences in substance use and co-occurring service, family education, therapy, and/or advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement groups.
  • Requires the ability to design programs that relate to clients of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
  • Valid driver’s license and no DUIs in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to climb stairs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in DBT, motivational interviewing, and family work is highly valued.
  • Experience with mental health and trauma-informed care
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience desired
