ACE intends to hire a skilled educator to facilitate professional development and formation efforts within the American Indian Catholic Schools Network. With ACE's new vision framework and three domains, adding a team member to provide direct, sustained, and effective instructional coaching to Native American Catholic schools is a top priority. Additionally, this individual will support the ACE English as a New Language and Teaching Fellows M.Ed. teams in a similar manner through instructional coaching, professional development, and educator supervision. Facilitation of professional development and instructional coaching to member schools of the American Indian Catholic Schools Network. AICSN partners with Holy Cross College to offer a BA degree to teachers in Native Catholic schools, and a team member is needed to provide pastoral support and to serve as a liasison to HCC as the program grows with more participants. Further, AICSN intends to improve academic achievement at each of the 8 member schools through virtual professional development offerings, which this individual would facilitate. Working with each school to identify areas for improvement, topics for professional development will include core instructional practices, serving diverse learners, planning and assessment, etc. Facilitation of professional development and instructional coaching to ENL partner schools. The ACE ENL team provides PD sessions to a number of schools, with a team member facilitating the presentations. Further, this role will include intentional instructional coaching and tutoring at Holy Cross Catholic School in South Bend, IN. Academic supervision of two ACE Teaching Fellows communities. Working with M.Ed. students teaching in K-12 Catholic schools, academic supervision includes an on-site formal observation and evaluation of each teacher once a semester. It also includes ongoing support of teachers through communication with principals and mentor teachers and timely, responsive feedback on written and video-based reflections composed by the teachers.
