POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Controller will work closely with the Director of Operations and CEO to promote a strong financial control environment and an exemplary reporting function that supports a rapidly expanding business.
At Hawaii Behavioral Health, the Financial Controller manages the accounting, financial planning & reporting control, as well as all treasury and tax functions.
More than just safeguarding assets and getting through internal and external financial reporting, the Financial Controller will lead the implementation of various growth initiatives and possible integration of financial functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all finance activities, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly and annual financial statements, tax returns, and internal reports and that financial information is reported in accordance with GAAP reporting guidelines
- Plan and coordinate the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management activities to ensure Company funds are collected and disbursed properly
- Lead planning and forecasting processes and oversee actual monthly results and KPIs to optimize financial results.
- Effectively partner with HBH Leadership Team to attain performance and growth goals.
- Define and implement systems to optimize processes and information flow.
- Maintain compliance with all credit agreement provisions including reporting deadlines, borrowing base activity, and required notifications
- Ensure compliance requirements dictated by contracts, regulators, laws and other applicable authorities.
KPI's:
- Gross and Net Income margin improvement
- Meeting budgetary targets
- Accuracy of forecasting
- Timely completion of external audits
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline (Preferred). Will also consider candidates with equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of finance and accounting experience
- Demonstrated history of high financial intelligence, initiative, and sound financial judgment.
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Ability to adapt to varying workloads and work assignments
- CPA certification or equivalent (preferred)
- Understanding of health care finance and operations (preferred).
- Experience with QuickBooks a plus.
