Applies extensive knowledge of professional health education programs and policies to manage program administration and operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation Participates in strategizing, planning, and implementation of substantial program improvements of large scope and high degrees of complexity. UCSF Medical Education seeks a Health Professions Education Systems Manager who will a bring diverse experience and background to function as a high-level, technical leader, designing and managing processes, providing consultation services, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, which allows UCSF graduate medical education programs and the institution to comply with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements, UCSF and UC policy, and operational needs through:
The Health Professions Education Systems Manager fills a critical role by working closely with GME program leadership from across the School of Medicine departments, including faculty program directors, faculty associate program directors, and staff program administrators; OGME staff and faculty; and administrators from UCSF Health, VA, and ZSFG, as well as campus and UCSF Health technology stakeholders and representative from outside vendor MedHub to meet educational, operational, and curricular needs. The Manager applies technical, GME, and accreditation knowledge to help define and craft systems, processes, integrations, and policies integral to the success of the GME programs and the institution. The Systems Manager employs technical literacy to interpret and analyze workflows, design processes, consult with program leadership and other stakeholders, and determine the best tools to engage to meet programmatic and institutional needs. The Systems Manager has outstanding communication skills and in particular, the proven ability to communicate technical needs and issues. The Manager has the proven ability to lead trainings and workshops, apply knowledge to provide consultative services, analyze problems and provide appropriate solutions, and effectively manage data and reporting. The Systems Manager also analyzes user (program leadership, trainee, and other user) needs. The Systems Manager acts as the primary communications point for instigation, discovery, and delivery of process improvements for OGME and the GME community. The Systems Manager provides guidance and leadership for product management, process discovery and analysis, and operational methodology within the OGME team. The Systems Manager engages as a key member of the OGME team, supporting, interpreting, and assisting in the day-to-day operations for the UCSF GME educational mission. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
