This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The mission of UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) is to educate future pharmacists and scientists to become leaders in diverse fields, transform pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, and improve human health.

In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Assessment and Accreditation, the incumbent is responsible for the alignment, implementation, and analysis of the assessment program of multiple graduate-level professional programs in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS).

Under general supervision, the incumbent provides analysis, oversight and complex assessment activities for the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS). Provides evaluation, assessment, monitoring and reporting of institutional and curricular effectiveness that support the missions of the SSPPS. Participates in policy making and program enhancements that support the assessment mission of the School.

Synthesizes data to provide analysis of effectiveness of curricular changes on student learning and faculty and student satisfaction with SSPPS curriculum. Provides reports of results to the SSPPS leadership team. Identifies opportunities for system improvements, and implements as appropriate.

Develops training materials and conduct training sessions for new and continuing SSPPS faculty and staff regarding assessment tools. Participates in OASIS (or similar) training sessions, workshops and pod casts to stay up-to-date on course evaluation enhancements and pharmacy school trends. Collects, analyzes, interprets and prepares reports on programmatic, institutional and curricular effectiveness in advance of interim accreditation reports and site visits. Provide analysis and reports on various special projects that support the missions of the School. Prepares and processes documents and other materials supporting assessment and accreditation.

Applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements. Thorough knowledge of health professions education industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.

  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills; includes active listening and critical thinking. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Prefer demonstrated experience communicating with students.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong problem solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues. Possess skills of tact, poise, diplomacy and hospitality with a diverse population of students, residents,faculty, and the community in a high pressure and demanding environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision. Demonstrated experience in administrative analysis or academic administration with strong organization management skills. Prefer direct experience working with educational programs, curriculum and/or curricular activities.

  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience. Demonstrated knowledge and experience using a variety of computer systems, software and database management. Ability to utilize statistical methodologies in order to analyze complex and diverse computer generated data to aid instrategic planning and dissemination of information. Prefer some software programming experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Skills include statistical analysis of data across databases and systems. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronicsystems. Demonstrated ability to solve complex research methodology, data gathering and analysis of problems. Provide alternative actions or solutions from new information as researched or developed.

  • Ability to control situations or events in the absence of higher authority and ability to make recommendations or decisions that affect student education activities, placements and locations. Provide alternatives actions or solutions from new information as researched or developed.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and writing reports that summarize methods, describe findings, analyze results, and make recommendations.

  • Proven ability to maintain attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality of information. Demonstrated ability to protect the integrity of secured information.

  • Proven skill to work effectively in a strong service environment, under pressure, and subject to constantly changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience working with curriculum and/or curricular activities (course schedules, course grading, examinations, etc.) Prefer experience working with graduate level curriculum and/or professional level curriculum.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in related area preferred.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
