Hospice, Director of Training & Education

 

Location : Remote, with travel.  Must live in Texas or Oklahoma.

 

Searching for someone who has been in a learning and development role, hospice and/or home health industry focused candidate only.  The Hospice, Director of Training & Education is responsible for the development of clinical training, EMR software training, implementation / conversion, company-wide: 30-50% travel, designing curriculum and directing educational programs that promote professional excellence for all clinical roles.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Develop educational curriculum and specialized training programs to enhance understanding of and compliance with hospice regulatory requirements
  • Assist in planning and implementation of new employee field orientation.
  • Develop and implement Clinical New Hire orientation.
  • Participate, as requested, in development of written staff educational materials for all levels of staff.
  • Contribute observations and data regarding joint visits, orientation, training and competency issues.
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality of the training delivery.
  • Coordinates with other departments within Hospice
  • Provide technical training and support of the electronic medical record for new employees.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a Valid RN License,
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MSN preferred.
  • Experience in Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Experience required in facilitating clinical or related training experience, EMR experience and learning management systems experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theories, methods and techniques as they apply to training/education, assessment practices and on-the-job training.
  • Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills, both individually and in large groups
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple job responsibilities and exercise critical thinking in a fast-paced, high-demand work environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Word
  • Proficient with Hospice EMR
