Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Academic and Instructional Coordinator, the Inclusive Academic Instructor will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and enhancing educational programs to support participants' learning and GED attainment. This position demands creativity, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Academics Team to develop engaging and impactful educational initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement interactive curriculum tailored to meet the diverse academic needs of participants, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Conduct focus groups with participants having learning disabilities and IEPs to better understand their educational requirements. Continuously assess participants' progress and adjust learning goals accordingly. Utilize evidence-based instructional practices and accommodations to cater to participants with various disabilities. Administer assessments such as the TABE test and provide detailed feedback to participants. Collaborate with other team members to ensure inclusive instruction and holistic support for participants. Create a safe and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation. Maintain accurate records of participant progress and program outcomes. Adapt teaching methods for remote learning environments, if necessary. Incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) strategies to inspire and empower participants. Foster strong attendance and participation through a strength-based, youth-centered approach. Develop, organize, and track program-related materials and worksheets. Coordinate with other departments to provide cohesive services to participants. Attend relevant training sessions and meetings to stay updated on best practices and trends in participant learning optimization. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in developing and delivering academic content across diverse learning levels. Experience in tailoring curriculum for participants with IEPs. Ability to identify learning gaps and propose effective solutions. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records. Cultural competence in engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Relevant coursework in Special Education; Special Education license preferred. Bachelor's Degree (Education degree preferred). Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. Experience in curriculum development and design. Non-profit experience is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Classroom.
