An Irrigation Supervisor job in Paterson, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE) based out of our Canoe Ridge Estate Winery. This position is full time salaried, weekends and nights as needed. The Irrigation supervisor will implement all irrigation operations and related activities for vineyard operations for Canoe Ridge Estate Winery, including supervision of irrigation staff, monitoring inventory, making recommendations on purchasing parts and performing irrigation repairs. Irrigation Supervisor job responsibilities include: •  Monitoring soil moisture, vine growth and analyze those with local climatic data to create irrigation schedule.
•  Conduct measurements to determine water availability using Enviro Scan Irrigation Probes.
•  Log and maintain records including payroll and irrigation application and other documentation.
•  Ensure understanding and compliance with all federal, state and company policies regarding safe work practices and utilization of equipment, ensuring the understanding and proper use of all personal protective equipment.
•  Oversee the application of fertilizers and sanitizers and assure they are applied in a safe manner at the recommended rates.
•  Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Position Requirements: •  Highschool Diploma, technical coursework preferred.
•  2-3 years experience working within wine grape vineyards preferred
•  Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) preferred.
•  2-3 years previous experience operating and maintaining drip irrigation systems and all applicable equipment.
•  Proven ability to supervise, train and motivate employees and provide direction.
•  Computer literacy required for operation of automated irrigation system. Knowledge of Word, Excel required and Micro Soft.
•  Able to walk through vineyards over uneven terrain.
•  Able to lift up to 50lbs, some stooping and bending for extended periods.
•  Possession of a valid driver's license.
•  Experience operating and the ability to become ATV, backhoe and forklift certified within three months of employment.
•  Possession of Washington State Pesticide Applicator's License preferred.
•  Work extended hours and weekends during harvest and peak irrigation periods.
•  60% of work is performed outside in all weather conditions. Your Compensation: $54,382.00 - $70,762 /yr. based upon relevant experience. At Ste.
