Job Description - Patient Access Specialist

The Patient Access Specialist (PAS) will be responsible for incoming correspondence for the Patient Access (PA) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) departments. The PAS will collaborate with members of the Patient Access, Revenue Cycle Management, and Clinical Services Departments daily to ensure seamless patient flow. This is an administrative position, requiring an individual who is detail-oriented, analytical, focused, service-oriented, and responsive with a willingness to help. This position encounters high volumes of transmissions and some protected health information; therefore, the candidate must conduct these functions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Triage incoming correspondence including but not limited to pulling faxes and emails and prioritizing them based on urgency.
  • Manage BVs in Salesforce: Entering BV requests into the Salesforce system.
  • Ensure accurate Benefit Verification (BV) requests: Review BV requests for completeness and initiate the process to obtain missing information.
  • Maintain patient charts: Keep patient charts up-to-date by incorporating new information received via fax, phone, or email.
  • Verify insurance and benefits: Utilize WayStar to verify patient eligibility and benefits, uploading the information to the respective patient charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 1+ years of computer data entry experience in a medical billing office required.
  • Perform all duties in a highly compliant and professional manner, ensuring patient privacy and data security.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills for internal communication with RCM and Clinical Services teams.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to organize, interpret data, and identify solutions.
  • You demonstrate excellent time management and multitasking skills to prioritize tasks and manage high volumes of information.
  • Always comply with HIPAA and all other applicable regulations as well as CND's policies.

Education, Certifications & Licensures:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required.

Other:

  • Ability to use computers, software, and related platforms.
  • Must possess the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • This position is fully remote with the possibility of travelling once or twice a year to either CND's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters or Atlanta, GA regional office
