Phlebotomist

JOB SUMMARY Location BSWH BUMC Downtown Dallas TX Shift Night 7on7off 10:00pm - 8:30am  Preferred Experience Certified Phlebotomist with at least 2yrs of experience Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies:
ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA. The Phlebotomist 2 collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in BSWH policies and procedures. Aids in the delivery of exceptional patient care. Assists with training and auditing of behaviors and performance, as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures.
• Responsible for high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct.
• Performs job responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Demonstrates engagement with achieving department goals and continuous improvement.

• Knowledge and ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures in accordance with regulations.
• Statistical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions.

• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

Donor Phlebotomy Tech-ASCP (DPT), Phlebotomy Technician (PBT): Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies:
ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA. OR Donor Phlebotomy Tech certification from the ASCP.
