Private Teacher

Our client, a welcoming private family based in Atlanta, GA are looking for an experienced top-notch fulltime homeschool Tutor for their school aged children. In this role primary job duties will be assisting the children with staying organized and on top of their schooling as they will be fully homeschooled depending on the family's schedule. As the private Tutor, you would be working with 4 school aged children – ranging from late elementary school to high school. The family is looking for someone who can keep things organized while also setting benchmarks and goals. You would also be reporting to the parents on the children’s progress. You must be willing to step in as needed with the existing staff, including other nannies and available to travel with the family as needed. Some nanny duties will be required.

Responsibilites

• Ensuring the welfare and safety of the children
• Assessing the child’s existing ability on certain subject matter
• Creating lesson plans for further education and developments
• Reviewing child’s homework assignments, comfortability with admission exams
• School applications as requested
• Coordinating test prep services as needed
• Communication with the parents on progress and areas to work on
• Keeping up to date on current curriculum and latest teaching trends
• Excellent knowledge of subjects being taught
• Keeping the child’s attention on the learning at hand
• Traveling or overnights with the family as needed
• Driving children as needed
• Coordinate directly with parents, Estate Manager and assistants
• Organizational and special projects as requested
• Ordering and restocking of any of the following but not limited to: children’s books, art supplies, educational materials
• Organize and maintain a respository of both digital and physical educational files and children’s art
• Assist with planning children’s activities both locally and while traveling
• Coordinating with the Chef regarding children’s snacks and meals or preparing basic snacks, etc as needed
• Assist with keeping the kitchen clean and cleaning up after meal preparation, assisting Chef with service and clearing as needed
• Helping to maintain the children’s calendar
• Assisting to keep all children’s areas neat and tidy
• Running errands as requested

• Must have a clean driving record
• Comfortable driving a large vehicle with multiple children
• Must be able to swim
• Must be CPR certified or willing to complete prior to hire

Their ideal candidate will be trained in late elementary through high school classroom teachings and homeschool teachings. You must also be comfortable working in the principal’s home and be able to conduct attention as such, along with traveling with the family as needed. A degree in child education is required. Comfortability with flexibility along with confidentiality and being organized. Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record a must.
