Registered Veterinary Technician- Education SIGN on bonus $1000
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group has an opening for a Registered Veterinary Technician for Education for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in the medical device industry located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation, sick time, and holidays, 401K, and annual reviews. Hours: M-F 8a-4:30p, flexibility with start/end times and weekends
Pay rate range : Weekday pay: $28.00-$30.00/hr;
Weekend differential: $34.00-$36.00/hr
Typically, two Saturdays a month
Responsibilities: - Provide veterinary technical assistance in preparing for and conducting) labs in Clinical Simulation Dept.
- Provide overall lab technician assistance in preparing for and conducting inanimate (animal tissue or human cadaver).
- Administer and maintain anesthesia of animals in a way that ensures humane animal care and use at all times.
- Participation in tissue harvesting.
- Ensure that lab areas, including surgical pods and support areas, are restored to proper order at the end of the lab. This may include appropriately disposing of single-use items, putting away lab equipment, and washing/sanitizing reusable instrumentation.
- Maintain lab and instrumentation cleanliness/sterility in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
- Maintain inventory of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
- Participate in quarterly audit sweeps to maintain regulatory and departmental compliance.
- Collaboration with internal and external associates and customers in the planning and execution of hands-on training labs.
- Lead and execute projects not necessarily associated with animal care.
- Ability to work early morning, evenings and weekends, when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements - Education:
- Associate degree required.
- RVT license from OVMLB highly preferred
- Skills and Experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and math skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work under pressure.
- Comfortable working in a medical lab setting environment with human cadaveric tissue, live animal, and animal tissue.
- Team player; ability to work well with people of varying opinions and backgrounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Previous porcine experience preferred but not required
- Some travel may be involved
