Schedule: Duration: July 8 - July 30 (4 weeks) Days: Monday and Tuesday Hours: Monday and Tuesday (On-site): 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM 2.5 hours in the classroom 2 hours of Zoom office hours 0.5 hour for professional duties/prep time Tuesday (Off-site): 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM 2 hours of Zoom office hours Note: Full availability required for the entire length of the assignment Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Adult Education Instructor to join our team for a four-week summer program. The instructor will provide both in-person and remote instruction to adult learners in a self-paced learning environment. Courses include Adult Basic Education Mathematics, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Consumer Math, and High School Equivalency Preparation Mathematics. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other educators, participate in curriculum development, and support at-risk students in achieving their educational goals. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate classroom and remote instruction for Adult Basic Education and High School Completion/Equivalency levels Engage with adult learners and at-risk students in a cooperative learning environment Collaborate on curriculum development aligned with Michigan content standards and College and Career Readiness standards Assess student progress according to the Adult Education Assessment Policy Manage classroom dynamics, including student participation, behavior, NRS assessment testing, and record-keeping Monitor attendance and assist in compiling data for grant accountability reports Qualifications: Valid Michigan teaching certificate with EX-Secondary endorsement Proven experience teaching adult learners and/or alternative student populations Preferred Attributes: Strong commitment to the goals of Adult and Community Education and high school completion programs, including credit recovery Ability to integrate current technology into classroom instruction Experience in designing and modifying curriculum to meet the instructional needs of adult learners within Michigan content standards Knowledge of grant accountability practices Willingness to engage in professional development activities Flexibility to take on other duties as assigned If you are passionate about making a positive impact on adult learners and meet the qualifications listed, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
