Job Summary
HGSE is a diverse community of learners, teachers, and employees who are passionate about changing the world through education and striving for maximum impact in the field of education.
The Center on the Developing Child drives science-based innovation to achieve breakthrough outcomes for children facing adversity. We do this through a signature approach to multidisciplinary science synthesis, strategic communication, and collaborative knowledge building to shift mindsets about the importance of supporting healthy development in the early years. Our goal is to forge connections between science, diverse sources of knowledge, and those who are in a position to make that science actionable—policymakers, community leaders, advocates, and others—to eliminate disparities and ensure that all children can thrive in developmental environments that support their lifelong health and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications, the Senior Content Writer is an exceptional writer and skilled editor who is enthusiastic to work with faculty, researchers, and subject matter experts to identify, frame, and deliver strategic messages to diverse external audiences of the Center on the Developing Child. The Senior Content Writer will conceptualize and execute content that creates a depth of understanding about emerging science related to early childhood development, advancing the Center's mission. In particular, the SCW will work with working papers generated by our scientific councils to generate companion, lay-friendly products that present the latest science with target audiences in accessible, actionable, and innovative formats, including InBriefs, social campaigns, web content, and more. In all this work, the Senior Content Writer will also work to elevate diverse voices, lived expertise, and community experience alongside the science on the Center's platforms.
