Job Description - Vice-President of Business Development for Higher Education

Our mission is to empower colleges, universities, and other Higher Education institutions with data-driven insights for strategic compensation planning at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. We are currently seeking a Vice President of Business Development for Higher Education who specializes in governance, leadership, and business development to spearhead our growth initiatives and deepen our industry relationships. This senior role requires someone with Board-level experience and a strong network of connections. Role Summary: The Vice President of Business Development for Higher Education will play a crucial role in expanding our presence within the sector by building strategic partnerships with Boards of Trustees, university presidents, and other key stakeholders. This leadership position demands a blend of strategic insight, deep understanding of Higher Education governance, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships within the industry. Core Responsibilities: Enhance footprint in the higher education sector through thoughtful business development and relationship-building initiatives.
Engage directly with Boards of Trustees, university presidents, and other pivotal figures to establish and nurture partnerships.
Identify and pursue new opportunities for collaboration and growth within the higher education landscape.
Understand the unique needs and challenges of higher education institutions and tailor our offerings accordingly.
Represent in industry forums, conferences, and events, showcasing our commitment to advancing higher education compensation practices.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure our solutions meet the expectations and requirements of higher education clients.
Mentor and guide the development of team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications: Business development experience in software sales, consulting, or a similar role in Higher Education.
20 years of experience in Higher Education in governance, compliance, legal, or financial disciplines, with a proven track record of effective collaboration with Board of Trustees members, presidents, provosts, and chancellors.
Strong connections on LinkedIn in Higher Education leadership.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Education Management, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining high-level relationships within the Higher Education sector, particularly with Boards of Trustees and institutional leadership.
Deep understanding of the governance, challenges, and opportunities in Higher Education today.
Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of sales/business development strategies, with an ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Knowledge of productization and pricing strategies within the Higher Education sector.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the capacity to inspire confidence and collaboration both within and outside the organization.
