The basics of this position:

Provides primary secretarial support for the library; monitors budgets; prepares logs, forms, and calendars; maintains complex record keeping and filing systems; compiles statistical data/information; performs normal secretarial functions; serves as the master room scheduler for campus events.

What you'll do:

  • • Types and edits departmental materials.
    • Prepares necessary pay documents and forms.
    • Maintains appointment and meeting calendars.
    • Answers telephone calls, screens and refers calls, and takes messages; provides information as appropriate.
    • Completes necessary forms to order and pay for items; maintains an inventory of supplies.
    • Maintains a filing system, including confidential files.
    • Uses telephone, PC, copier, calculator, and other current office equipment.
    • May record budget transactions and monitor budgets for the department, calling attention to irregularities as indicated.
    • Oversees or accomplishes the processing of personnel/payroll data information and forms.
    • Responsible for campus room reservations and scheduling for campus events and hosted events; provides support to campus faculty and staff throughout the reservation process; works with the business services office to provide information or support relating to rooms/facilities for rentals.
    • May function as department timekeeper.
    • May make travel arrangements.
    • May serve on college committees or task forces.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and over one (1) year of full-time secretarial experience. Must pass skills assessment at the basic level of proficiency in latest Microsoft software.
