Supervisor, Educational Technology Tools (Media & Collaboration)University of California Los Angeles Budgeted Pay Scale: $135,740 -$157,071 annually Full Salary Range:
USD $86,900.00/Yr. - USD $197,300.00/Yr. Position Summary The Bruin Learn team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines Bruin Learn products and application technologies, including but not limited to learning management systems, third party tools, and campus integrations. This department also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies. The Supervisor, Educational Technology Tools (Media & Collaboration) will lead the Educational Technology Tools and Media team, directing daily functions, steering projects, and maximizing resource utility while bridging communications between the team and ITS leadership. This team will support classroom engagement and collaboration through delivery of functionalities such as chat, discussion, polling, annotation and collaboration. They will champion the growth, implementation, and refinement of media engagement and collaboration tools, in line with the university's overarching goals. This leader will set delivery priorities, guiding the creation of standards that reflect organizational ambitions, and fostering a culture of persistent enhancement. They will also service as the service leader for the associated tools. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, the Supervisor will make certain that media and collaboration tools satisfy business objectives and user needs, refining products based on stakeholder feedback.The Supervisor, Educational Technology Tools (Media & Collaboration) will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage Educational Technology Tools and Media products and applications. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
  • Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields: product management, application development, learning management systems, or another related field. (Required)
  • Two years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Required)
  • Significant experience delivering learning management technology products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)
  • Significant experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices. (Required)
  • Extensive experience solving technical and non-technical problems; able to delegate solutioning when appropriate to the proper resources. (Required)
  • Experience operating as a point of escalation. (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience providing inclusive leadership of others, cultivating an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (Required)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
  • Seven years experience working in one or more of the following fields: product management, application development, learning management systems, or another related field. (Required)
  • Five years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. (Preferred)
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to define a clear product vision and strategy that connects with an organization's goals and objectives. (Required)
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and the ability to collaborate with designers to create user-friendly products; Ability to understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors through market research, user feedback, and data analysis. (Required)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate work assignments to medium-sized teams. (Required)
  • Advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, supervising others, and advising teams on competing priorities. (Required)
  • Able to lead data gathering efforts seeking information from multiple and diverse sources. (Required)
  • Inspires creativity in others and advises teams on industry-leading practices, such as the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Has demonstrated experience leading in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated leadership / management skills, including abilities in persuasion, negotiation, change management, and mentorship. (Required)
  • Competence in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and market segmentation to inform prioritization of efforts. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working with agile development teams, including familiarity with Scrum or other agile frameworks. (Preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
  • Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience. (Required)
