Composites Technician (Lab Tech) - Physical Science Laboratory

Location: Warren, RI (On-site)

Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor

TPI Composites is seeking a full-time Composites Technician responsible for all aspects of composite specimen preparation in the Physical Sciences Laboratory located in Warren, RI. This individual will be essential in the operations of the laboratory and must be punctual, dependable, handy with cutting tools and focused on details.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read/Interpret Work Orders and fabricate composite test panels by resin infusion, RTM and other techniques while maintaining a high attention to detail
• Harvest composite test specimens from test panels according to prints/drawings/standards using saws, routers and other cutting machinery
• Perform secondary bonding operations in accordance with test standards
• Work with lab personnel to continue to improve capabilities and streamline test lab procedures
• Perform training sessions with new members of the team
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

Desired Education, Skills and Experience:

• Ability to maintain a safe work environment:
o Handling hazardous materials, wearing proper PPE, monitoring work environment for Good Catch/Continuous Improvement opportunities, etc.
• At least 2 years related experience where transferable skills are demonstrated (composites lamination & fabrication, machine shop operator, or other related field)
• Familiarity operating table saws, router and other composites cutting equipment
• Ability to read part drawings and interpret dimensions and tolerances
• Experience with MS Excel and MS Outlook and general data entry
• Experience working with high performing teams
