Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will take the lead in managing purchasing volume recognition and reporting for Foodbuy. Develop your team, forge strong relationships, and ensure financial statements shine with accuracy. Dive into analyzing client contracts, drive process automation, and excel in Excel. With a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, join the thrilling world of the food industry where every day promises excitement and growth. The role is located in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid basis.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities
• Lead the processes responsible for the recognition, allocation, and reporting of all purchasing volume for Foodbuy.
• Manage, develop, and motivate direct report. Provide development and growth opportunities while also providing constructive feedback. Lead open two-way communication and assist in understanding how they contribute to the vision of the department and the organization.
• Foster and build relationships with business partners within the Foodbuy and Compass organization.
• Ensure accurate and timely presentation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and the Group Accounting Manual.
• Analyze client contracts for proper accounting treatment and financial impact.
• Complete ad hoc analyses, reporting, and project requests as identified or assigned.
• Strive for Accounting Excellence by ensuring complete review, timely and accurate account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Provide standard and adhoc reporting for internal and external customers (e.g. IBS, Supplier Flash, internal analysis/validation, etc.)
• Drive transformational process automation and improvements by partnering with Management in Accounting, Finance and Business. Understand and anticipate the business needs to support growth. 
• Understand, implement, and adhere to proper accounting controls and KFCs.

Requirements
• B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA certifications/candidate or MBA preferred
• 4 years of accounting experience
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient in Office 365 Application (Strong Excel skills required, PowerBI skill a plus)
• Experience with SAP, Essbase/Hyperion, and PowerPoint 
• Experience with a large company (> $3 billion sales preferred)

Other Skills/Abilities
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement processes
• Excellent problem-solving, detail oriented, with skills in process improvement and analytics
• Ability to prioritize and manage projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with all levels of Management
• Committed and enthusiastic approach to delivering solutions to business customers.
• Established reputation for integrity.
• Good ability to multi-task between various priorities, tasks and timelines
• Hands on experience with process improvement methodologies and project management, preferred. 
• Ability to foster solid business partnerships with peer management partners across multiple disciplines
• Food Industry experience is a plus.
