The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.

The Work You Will Do:

This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes. This in-office position answers phones, directs calls, handles the Division’s mail, and assigns complaints received by the Division to appropriate staff.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the Division’s mail, assigning various citizen complaints to appropriate staff, and assisting with Public Records requests. This includes:

  • Greets visitors, accepts and tracks parcel deliveries, and answers a multi-line telephone system for the Director’s Office.
  • Opens mail, date stamps it, and creates correspondence and labels for mailing out materials.
  • Scans all incoming mail into Onbase.
  • Compiles reports needed in Qlik and Launch Pad to assist the Manager Review Specialist.
  • Manages CCC Escalations and DBPR Citizen Services Inquiries.
  • Serves as the backup to the Administrative Assistant II Public Records staff with researching and compiling information for 119 Public Records requests. Creates correspondence, investigates subject matter, and prepares replies to Public Records requests.
  • Assists with filing, correspondence, and related issues as needed.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with the public. 
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and the operation of office equipment. 
  • Ability to effectively handle and track large quantities of mailing materials and incoming mail. 
  • Knowledge of OnBase, Launch Pad, and Departmental Databases.

Minimum Requirements :  

High School Diploma or the equivalent; and

Three years of office experience
