It is the primary responsibility of the Apprentice Bartender to prepare and serve cocktails to servers and/or guests. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

Specific Job Functions :

 

· Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail order

 · Prepare and serve cocktails to customers following hotel guidelines

 · Clean and organize bar to beverage department standards

 · Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels

 · Provide exceptional service to customers

 · Follow departmental cash handling policies and procedures

 · Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers

 · Knowledge of wine and champagne service at table games

 · Work station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shift

 · Garnish drinks

 · Ensure correct health and sanitation practices are followed

 · Ensure the correct glassware / stemware is used according to Beverage Department 
standards

 · Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greeting

 · Answer questions related to property correctly and professionally

 · Handle cash, credit cards and room charges in accordance with departmental 
procedures

 · Assist new employees with training and answering questions

 · Check ID's if the guest appears to be under 30

 · Replace dirty ashtrays by capping off ashtrays with a clean ashtray

 · React to the needs of management for special host requests

 · Inform management of any problems or concerns

 · Be ethical and professional at all times

 · Communicate with Management to keep them informed of special requests from a guest

 · Answer telephone using the property telephone etiquette standards

 · Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department

· Minimum one year experience in a high-volume hotel / restaurant experience required

· Pleasing personality and ability to communicate with customers

· Communicate effectively in English both verbally and written forms

· Knowledge of ABC laws

· Professional appearance demeanor a must
