Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Miami, FL is looking for one busser to join our 85 person strong team. We are located on 316 Nw 24th St. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

• Clear tables of dishes, cups, utensils and drinkware after each customer
• Reset tables filling napkins and condiments when needed
• Refill drinks as necessary
• Maintain a clean and sanitary bussing station

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and listen to team members and guests
• Dedication to working as a team towards one goal
• Great customer service skills
• Experience as a busser is a plus

Job description

Position Summary

The Busser serves patrons by setting tables, placing, and replacing silverware; keeping beverage glasses full; adhering to sanitation and safety policies; clearing and cleaning tables, chairs, and environment.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares dining room for patrons
• Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies
• Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or special needs
• Support wait staff by setting -up and replenishing condiments stands, trash container liners and bus stations

· Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping and/or vacuuming floors, removing trash and recyclables from facility.

· Effectively communicate with server and host or hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities and attend all scheduled meetings.

· Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to servers

· Carry food, dishes, trays or silverware from kitchen or supply areas to serving counters

· Fill in for fellow employees when needed

Skills & Abilities

· High school diploma or GED

· Active listening and effective communication skills

· Attentiveness and patience for customers

· Excellent presentation skills

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

· Customer focus and service

· Flexibility to work in shifts

· Ability to work as a team member

Education :

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

· Must have at least 6 months experience in a fast-paced restaurant with a high volume

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or degree in Culinary Arts
• Currently seeking a diploma, certificate, or degree in culinary arts

· Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

· Oral Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with others in a respectful manner

Physical Demands

· Must be able to walk and or stand for extended period and push or lift 20 pounds or more.

Job Type: Full-time with available shifts:

- 8 hour shifts (2 days off)

- 10 hour shifts (3 days off)

- 12 hour shifts (4 days off)

- 13 hour shifts (4 days off)

- Thursday - Sunday 

- Monday - Wednesday, etc.
