Job Summary

The Distribution Specialist is the primary department support role for the Distribution team. In this role, you will directly support a small team of Distribution managers and have significant interaction with supplier partners while working collaboratively with a number of cross-functional departments within Foodbuy. This role requires strong analytical skills, the capacity to manage multiple projects as well as the ability to effectively understand and communicate complex category strategies.

 

What You'll Do:

• Develop tools and processes that help to drive value in contracting, conversion, and revenue generation
• Support Distribution Managers with:
• Ad hoc analysis, market trends, marketing/communication opportunities and opportunity analysis
• Development of category plans, joint business plans and presentations for key strategic meetings
• Communication and implementation of program updates adhering to Foodbuy processes and timelines
• Budget forecasting and tracking of revenue against plan - conduct income analysis, make forecast changes or perform any other duties supporting category income drivers
• Tracking of raw materials and market/industry data for use in negotiations and presentations
• Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, pricing/VA and new programs
• Various special projects as assigned by manager
  
   

What You'll Need:

• 1 to 3 years related experience required; category management or procurement background preferred
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• A great attitude – flexibility, optimism, resourcefulness and transparency
• Solid project management skills capable of handling multiple competing tasks and priorities
• Ability to break down large amounts of data to help assess the category landscape
• Insights-driven and effectively applies common sense to analysis
• Must be adaptable to change and thrive in a dynamic environment
• Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Responds to customer needs quickly, efficiently, enthusiastically and courteously
• High attention to detail and exceptional work quality
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent proficiency level with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
• Experience utilizing reporting and accounting systems like Ceres and FORT is a plus
