Description Company Overview BALDOR HISTORY: When Louis Balducci rented a pushcart for $5.00 a week in 1918, little did he know that he was laying the foundations for Baldor Specialty Foods. In 1946, Louis opened a fruit stand called Balducci's Produce in Greenwich Village that flourished into a beloved specialty food shop. Food writer James Beard was a regular customer and noted that Balducci's always sold "the best of the best, at the right price."


A family business from the start, the company employed numerous family members including son-in-law, Kevin Murphy. For more information visit the website at Overview of the Position: hr DIRECTOR, CORPORATE Baldor Specialty Foods has a long legacy of quality, consistency and service. Under the leadership of the former Owner and Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Murphy, President Mike Muzyk joined Baldor in 1996 and today works closely with Kevin's son, TJ Murphy, who has been the Owner and Chief Executive Office since 2013. Under the leadership and partnership of TJ and Mike, in the last seven years, Baldor has achieved consistent double-digit growth in addition to geographic, category, product and channel expansion.


As Baldor moves into a new chapter of growth including geographic and channel expansion, Baldor has recognized the need for a HR Director for the Corporate functions of the organization. Reporting to Catherine Jones, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, this new position is a critical role for the company during a time of continued growth and transformation.


The HR Director will partner with the CFO, SVP Sales, Marketing & Merchandising and VP IT, to implement and support the HR related initiatives and change programs which support the achievement of business goals and objectives. This individual will be instrumental in coaching and developing the line managers' ability in order to competently deal with all related HR matters.


The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial minded, strong people leader, with a strong passion for ensuring that HR operate as One Team demonstrating a cohesive customer focused approach. They will create buy-in and trust through their low-ego, servant leadership approach and interest in developing and the organization and its people.

Major Responsibilities HR Director, Corporate • Provide HR expertise, external and internal insight and support to the SVP, HR and the HR Leadership Team, in order to proactively support the transformation of the HR team and contribute to the development and delivery of the People strategy • Gain a deep understanding of Baldor's business needs and objectives and work to define solutions to support the business effectively • Adapt and promote best-in-class practices, foster collaboration across all Baldor sites, ensure smooth implementation of HR solutions and build the management capability of the Corporate functions to enhance overall performance


• Responsible for the planning and execution of organizational redesign projects which lead to business restructuring • In conjunction with the Learning & Development team develops solutions to address training needs and coaches managers to address these needs • Coach managers regarding Performance Management to ensure it is applied fairly and consistently across the business and we achieve a high performing culture • Take responsibility for ensuring the business unit's employees are on the appropriate terms and conditions of employment and ensures compliance with the pay and grading structures in place • Supporting managers on various human resources matters including employee relations, performance management, employment law compliance and policy interpretation • Play a key role ensuring that the managers are focusing on Employee Engagement and are proactively addressing the issues • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure there is a clear Talent Acquisition strategy to support the business plans, and also the succession plan for the Corporate functions • Compile HR statistics reports on a periodic basis, analyzing for trends/themes which are leading to employee issues and developing action plans to address


• Supports any projects as and when required Talent Management • Builds and executes workforce plans that underpin the strategic growth of the organization


• Develop a high performing organization through coaching, creation of development plans, establishing goals and objectives and providing stretch opportunities to high performing talent KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Experience Profile: • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a HR business partnering role with a high degree of autonomy and influence • Educated to degree level or equivalent with appropriate professional qualification such as SHRM or equivalent experience • Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the HR Business Partner role and its critical success criteria • Experience of using digital technologies to create new - or modify existing - business processes, culture, and employee experiences to meet changing business and market requirements • Able to manage the people impact of rapid growth and change from a small company to full organizational maturity • Experience of planning and implementing recruitment interventions and hiring a diverse range of roles • Strong commercial and financial acumen supported with sound technical HR skills • Expert knowledge of best practice people/workforce interventions, workforce planning, performance management/improvement, leadership and management transformation, people policies and procedures, values and behaviors frameworks, current employment legislation, reward and recognition and staff engagement • The ability to balance priorities and demands on time while working in a fast moving progressive environment • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously • Proven ability to switch between big picture and attention to detail • Commitment to, and enthusiasm for facilitating cultural and behavioral change • Strong influencing and relationship building skill and the ability to set out a clear direction and inspire others • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an engaging and compelling manner using a variety of methods • Experience of successfully leading and developing a team and service • Ability to manage difficult situations and conflict • Commitment to and focus on quality, promotes high standards to consistently improve outcomes and the experience of staff
