Job Description - INFORMATION OFFICER I

Job Description and Duties

The Governor’s Office of Planning & Research (OPR) seeks to fill a Limited-Term, Full-Time Information Officer II position within the Office of Community Partnership and Strategic Communications.

Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months.

Under the supervision of the Public Education Assistant Strategist, the Writer will lead the creation of documents and materials for release in support of all Office campaigns and outreach activities. The incumbent will engage in frequent and concise communication with all members of the public education department and their relative external agencies and organizations to create factually accurate materials in support of the OCPSC’s goals and initiatives at large.

The Public Education department Writer will oversee the research for and drafting of materials associated with OCPSC projects and activities in support of the establishment of open and honest lines of communication between California’s government agencies and its diverse communities. This position will require that candidates have a background in research and technical writing to create office materials in am effective, innovative, and resourceful way.

This position is eligible for telework in accordance with the OPR Telework Policy.
